Not Sport
A self-defense system designed for real world encounters.
A lot of martial arts are directed towards sport combat. Instead, Wing Chun gives you the tools and skills you need to adapt to real world violence, which may be up close, very sudden, and in diverse surroundings like parking lots or a crowded room that renders many of the practices used in sport based martial arts impossible. It uses simple, easy to execute techniques that allow smarter fighters the ability to fully defend themselves against bigger, stronger opponents. Perfect for the stress and pressure of real world combat.
Do you teach defense against weapons?
We do... but not how you'd think. Defending yourself against an armed assailant when you dont have a weapon is a horrible, horrible scenario that we teach you how to avoid first, equalize second, and then resis third - as a completely last resort.
Great for smaller people
Strong enough for a man - created by a woman.
Wing Chun is the only combat art to be developed by a woman. It teaches you not to try to match force against force, but rather use it against your opponent.
You don’t have to be a big, powerful person to be able to protect yourself. Wing Chun training will give you the skills and the knowledge you need to stay ahead of your attacker - even if they are bigger and stronger.
Do I have to be in great shape to get started?
No. That's our job. Don't procrastinate or you'll never get started.
Personal protection that just works
Beginner friendly kung fu classes that
anyone can learn from.
We’ll teach you the ins and outs of the Wing Chun fighting system and help you on your journey to become the self-defense master you’ve always wanted to be. You’ll develop lightning fast punches, powerful kicks, grappling and submission defense - even weapon knowledge. This and more will be added to your arsenal through our dynamic classes in a safe and motivating training environment great for any level of experience.
Do you teach multiple opponent defense?
Absolutely. Every technique and tactic is designed to work against the reality that you might be fighting more than one person. And the brilliant part is that everything is integrated, so you don't fight one way against a single opponent and another against multiple attackers.
Training For The Real World
Martial arts for women, children, and anyone who is under attack by someone bigger.
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a staggeringly simple, and logical close range fighting system. Real confrontations don’t happen in a ring, cage, or on a floor with mats, so we must have a method of fighting that is prepared for the real thing. Precise movements keep your opponent out of position, allowing the Wing Chun fighter an opportunity to attack and control their assailant, gaining the upper hand in any circumstance. It’s not as flashy as other martial arts systems, but while those arts might make you look good during the fight, Wing Chun will make sure you still look good after.
Is there sparring in Wing Chun?
We do a variety of focus mitt and sparring related drills to make sure your reflexes are honed for a sudden violent encounter. With all the groin kicks, etc., in Wing Chun it's not safe to do all-out sparring so, instead, you've got plenty of unique drills to make sure you can function under pressure.
